Summary:
This is the chain, owned by Jimmy Buffet. The atmosphere of the place is fabulous, with a food menu that has very little on it, but what is on it, is excellent. We were seated near the bandstand, with a clear view of the lake on one side, and the large television screen on the other side.
There was a festive atmosphere, and several tables of families with children, which really surprised us. With a name like Margaritaville,I didn't expect to see any children at all.
Very soon, we began to realize this was a favorite place for children's birthday dinners, as the employee on stilts, roamed the dining area floor, creating balloon hats for all the kids, and many adults, then leading the customers in songs.
They have sandwiches, salads, ribs, chicken, steaks, and shrimp. The nachos are a meal for any two people, no matter how hungry you are. They are stacked up about a foot high and loaded. The turkey wrap is tremendous, and again, it will fill up any empty spot.
When you see Weather Channel storm stud Jim Cantori on the video, the action is about to heat up. You will note when you come into the restaurant there is a large hurricane floating near the ceiling.
This is Hurricane Myrtle, as Jim Cantori explains and it comes to life when the Margaritaville song begins to play. A large bottle of Tequila drops from the center of the hurricane, and begins to fill a large blender. This is a sing along, lead by the man on stilts.
It is fun and interesting restaurant, but I am still wondering why anyone would bring children here.
Restrooms were clean, but covered in Graffiti, which seems to be part of the allure to visit the restroom. It was fun dining and reading the restroom graffiti. It is a must see,
