At long last, the Myrtle Beach boardwalk is open for enjoyment. The 1.2 mile-long boardwalk opened for use on May 15, 2010. It stretches from the 2nd Avenue Pier to the 14th Avenue Pier. The boardwalk webcam is here
It features a raised wooden deck, with dune landscaping and vegetation and of course that awesome oceanview.
The second section, the high-intensity portion of the boardwalk, extends from Plyler Park to Eighth Avenue North.
The third and final section, the South Promenade, continues from Eighth Avenue North to First Avenue North, just south of the Second Avenue Pier. The South Promenade is a lineal park promenade with benches and natural landscaping.
